Wisconsin #Wisconsin
No. 3 Ohio State leads Wisconsin 21-0 after one quarter of play in what has been one of the more impressive performances for the Buckeyes early in the season. Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 77 yards on the first drive, which culminated with a 2-yard rush from Miyan Williams. The player of the game so far, though, has been tight end Cade Stover, who has four catches for 51 yards and two touchdowns. The second of his two scores came on a nifty a run-pass option in which Stroud drew two defenders and tossed it over the top to Stover, who was running free in the back of the end zone.
One of the biggest questions heading into the game was how Ohio State’s defense would handle the tough Wisconsin rushing attack. So far, so good. The Badgers have gone three-and-out on two of their first three drives, and star running back Braelon Allen has just 19 yards.
This has been a lopsided series over the years in favor of the Buckeyes despite the Badgers being a perennial Big Ten West power. Through 15 minutes, it appears that trend will continue.
