The body of infant Kennedy Hoyle was never found, despite a five-day search in frigid temperatures along the Mississippi River at the north end of Mud Island.

On the evening of Feb. 1, police found an abandoned car with a broken window at Levi Road and Sedgewick Street in Whitehaven.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found Danielle Hoyle shot to death.

Relatives said Hoyle was on the way to meet with Isabelle and that she had their newborn baby with her in a car seat.

The baby was missing, and when police located and questioned Isabelle, he told them he had thrown her in the river.
