KAY Burley has been the face of Sky News for well over three decades now.

On September 19, 2022 she will be reporting for the news channel on Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Who is Kay Burley and how old is she?

Born December 17, 1960, Kay Burley is an English television newsreader and presenter.

The 61-year-old joined Sky News in 1988 and has since hosted more hours of live television than any other news presenter.

During her career, her notable assignments included fronting Sky News coverage from Sri Lanka after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and the wedding of King Charles and Queen Consort, Camilla Parker Bowles.

Kay also published her debut novel, First Ladies in 2011, which was followed by her second book Betrayal in 2012.

Kay worked for BBC local radio and Tyne Tees Television

She then joined ITV’s TV-am in 1985 as a reporter and occasional newsreader.

From 1987, she presented TV-am’s first hour, filling in for Caroline Righton and covering for Anne Diamond during their maternity leave.

After leaving TV-am, Kay has worked for Sky News ever since – so as of 2022, Kay has been working for Sky News for 34 years.

She moved from the afternoon news slot to the breakfast show in 2019.

You can usually catch her weekdays from 7am until 10am.

Kay was also a contestant on the second series of Dancing on Ice in 2007, but she was eliminated in the fifth-week in a skate-off with Grange Hill actress Clare Buckfield.

Kay also appeared on Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up to Cancer in 2018.

Although Kay keeps her personal life private, it is understood she has been married twice.

It is also reported that she has one child.
