Quandre Diggs on state of Seahawks: ‘Obviously, we’re not that good’

A week after the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) came away with a thrilling win over the Denver Broncos (1-1) in their 2022 season opener, the team got shellacked on the road by the San Francisco 49ers (1-1) in a contest that looked even worse than the final score of 27-7 suggested.

Free safety Quandre Diggs made a frank admission of the team’s status in his postgame press conference.

“This league will humble you quick, and we were humbled today, that’s just part of it,” Diggs told reporters. “I don’t see why we would be riding high, everybody’s doubting us anyway.”

Nobody expected the Seahawks to light the world on fire after they traded franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver, and Diggs all but admitted that this is a rebuilding year, just like the majority of the 12s.

“We shouldn’t be feeding into all the hype, anyway,” Diggs continued. “Obviously, we’re not that good.”

The Seahawks will return home to Lumen Field to host the Atlanta Falcons (0-2) in Week 3.
