— Saban said they showed great resilience after not playing Alabama football for most of the game.
— He said they shot themselves in the foot all day with the 15 penalties.

— On the penalties, he said it didn’t have to do with the crowd. Too many were undisciplined, he said.
— On the five three-and-outs, he said they didn’t block well, nobody got open and they need to do a better job of planning. He said it wasn’t one thing. They had too many second- and third-and longs.
— Saban noted the penalties on Will Anderson but said he played well in the game. He mentioned the sack at the end to force a longer kick.
