AT SIX. WELL, HIGH PRESSURE BROUGHT CLEAR SKIES TO THE AREA LAST NIGHT AND ALLOWED TEMPERATURES TO FALL CLOSE TO DO POINT READINGS WHICH ARE ACTUALLY CLIMBING AND THAT RESULTED IN SOME PATCHY FOG THIS MORNING, AT TIMES LIMITING VISIBILITY, BUT ALREADY SEEING IMPROVEMENTS. VISIBILITY IS INCREASING. WE’RE LOOKING GOOD. STILL HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF CLOUDS IN PARTS OF THE AREA, BUT SEEING SOME BLUE SKY HERE IN OUR HERSHEY SKY CAM, WE’LL CALL IT PARTLY SUNNY THIS MORNING, BUT BY THIS AFTERNOON YOU CAN EXPECT MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. TEMPERATURES WILL TOP OUT NEAR 80 DEGREES, OVERCAST THIS EVENING. AND I CAN’T RULE OUT A FEW LATE SHOWERS AS EARLY AS SEVEN, 8:00. MOST AREAS WILL STAY DRY. THERE IS A BETTER CHANCE, THOUGH, FOR MORE WIDESPREAD RAIN AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THAT MIDNIGHT HOUR AND BEYOND. AND THAT WILL CONTINUE INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BACK INTO THE MID SIXTIES AND IT WILL BE MUGGY MORNING RAIN TOO SCATTERED AFTERNOON SHOWERS, MORE HUMID TEMPERATURES, COOLER IN THE LOW SEVENTIES. THE GETTYSBURG WINE AND MUSIC FESTIVAL TODAY AND IS LOOKING GOOD TODAY WITH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80, 81 DEGREES, MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND THE STILL FEEL IT I STILL FEEL QUITE PLEASANT EVEN THOUGH THOSE DEW POINT READINGS ARE COMING UP A BIT TOMORROW. YOU’RE GOING NEED THE UMBRELLA. TODAY’S THE BETTER DAY TO GET OUT THERE. WEATHER AND HEALTH. WE’VE GOT HIGH POLLEN LEVELS STILL. AIR QUALITY IS GOOD IN THE INDEX. OBVIOUSLY, WITH THE CLOUD COVER EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON. IS MODERATE WITH A BURN TIME OF 40 TO 45 MINUTES. CURRENT TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW WE HAVE LOW TO MID 60 SE ACROSS THE AREA AND YOUR DEW POINT READINGS HAVE COME UP JUST A TAD THERE IN THE LOW SIXTIES. STILL FEELING OKAY OUTSIDE, FEEL COMFORTABLE, IT’LL START TO FEEL A LITTLE STICKIER LATER ON TODAY. WE’RE LOOKING GOOD ON SUPER TOP RATE, QUIET, DRY. BUT AS I ZOOM OUT, YOU’LL NOTICE SOME SHOWERS LIFTING UP INTO VIRGINIA AND WEST VIRGINIA. THIS IS THE LEADING EDGE OF THIS MOISTURE PLUME THAT’LL BE HEADING IN OUR DIRECTION, GIVING US A NICE SOAKING RAIN OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND INTO OUR SUNDAY. SO DEFINITELY NEED THAT UMBRELLA FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND. THIS EVENING IT IS POSSIBLE OUR HIGH RESOLUTION MODEL HERE SHOWING THERE COULD BE A FEW SHOWERS LIFTING IN AS EARLY AS SEVEN, 8:00. BETTER CHANCE, THOUGH, WE’LL START TO SEE THAT RAIN REALLY FILLING IN OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND INTO OUR SUNDAY AND THEN HEADING INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS. THOSE SHOWERS BECOME MORE SCATTERED IN NATURE. SO IF YOU’RE HEADED OUT EARLY TOMORROW MORNING FOR CHURCH SERVICES, DEFINITELY WE’LL NEED THE RAIN GEAR. YOU MIGHT WANT TO HOLD OFF ON THAT MORNING, RUN OR JOG OR WALK FOR THE AFTERNOON HOURS. AND MAYBE YOU CAN DODGE SOME OF THOSE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND GET THAT WALK IN RAIN CHANCES. AS I MENTIONED, WE’RE DRY THROUGH THE DAY TODAY AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THAT SEVEN, 8:00 HOUR. WE HAVE ABOUT A 23% CHANCE WE COULD SEE A FEW SHOWERS. BUT THAT ALSO MEANS THERE’S ABOUT A 60 TO 70% CHANCE WE WON’T SEE. SOME OF YOU WON’T SEE SHOWERS BETTER CHANCE, THOUGH, HEADING TOWARDS MIDNIGHT AND ESPECIALLY INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. WE COULD PICK UP ANYWHERE FROM A HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH OF RAIN WITH SOME ISOLATED AMOUNTS EVEN HIGHER THAN THAT, AS YOU CAN SEE HERE ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. SO WE WILL BE WATCHING OUT FOR THE POTENTIAL FOR MINOR FLOODING, ESPECIALLY ON THOSE POOR DRAINAGE AREAS, LOW LYING AREAS, STREAMS AND CREEKS. AND WE’LL HAVE TO WATCH FOR SOME FLASH FLOODING FOR SOME LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AS WELL. AND OF COURSE, WE’LL BE KEEPING YOU POSTED. TEN DAY FORECAST SHOWS THAT WE DO HAVE MORE RAIN CHANCES MONDAY AFTERNOON. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE. SHOWERS WILL LINGER INTO EARLY TUESDAY, THEN DRIER AIR RETURNS. WE’LL SEE INCREASING SUNSHINE WEDNESDAY INTO THE REST OF THE WEEK AND THAT ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO GET BACK TO NEAR SEASONABLE AVERAGES AS WE’

High pressure brought a clear night, and great viewing of the full moon. Patchy fog this morning quickly burns off leaving partly to mostly sunny skies. The high slides east shifting our winds to the southeast today. This allows clouds to increase and moisture to stream up from the south. So, clouds build and thicken as they day goes on. Highs are near 80. A few late evening showers are possible with a better rain threat arriving closer to midnight, continuing into early Sunday, then tapering to scattered showers Sunday. Temperatures are cooler in the lower 70s. We may see 0.50” to 1.00” of rain. Portions of the Susquehanna Valley may pick up over an inch. There is a slightly elevated risk for flash flooding for Adams, York, Lancaster, and Lebanon Counties. Minor flooding in lower lying areas, small creeks and streams is possible. An upper-level low and surface front brings more rain chances early in the week. Monday afternoon scattered showers and thundershowers are possible. Showers linger early Tuesday, then drier air works in, as system exits east, and off the coast. Highs are at or just below seasonable averages in the 70s. Brighter skies return mid to late week with plenty of sunshine expected thanks to high pressure. We end the week slightly warmer too.
