Catastrophe star and comedian Rob Delaney is the latest star reported to have joined season 6 of Black Mirror.

Charlie Brooker’s dystopian drama will be back on Netflix after a three-year hiatus and it’s beginning to take shape, with the 45-year-old joining a stellar cast.

According to Deadline, the American actor’s role in the juggernaut series is being kept quiet by the global streamer.

Other stars rumoured to have signed up for Black Mirror include Black Hawk Down’s Josh Hartnett, House Of Cards actress Kate Mara and Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.

On top of that, Paapa Essiedu, who shot to fame in Michaela Coel’s BBC Three drama I May Destroy You, is on the bill, alongside Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz and On My Block star Danny Ramirez.

Deadline also reports that  Industry breakout Myha’la Herrold and Signs star Rory Culkin are on the bill.

Black Mirror ran for two series and a Christmas special on Channel 4 before moving to Netflix, where it has run for three series and an interactive feature-length movie, Bandersnatch.

Since moving to the streaming giant, the anthology series has won eight Emmys for the episodes San Junipero, USS Callister and Bandersnatch.

Meanwhile, Rob, who became a breakout star on Twitter with witty tweets, is best-known for starring alongside Sharon Horgan in Catastophe.

The star has also documented his previous struggles with addiction, reflecting recently on being sober for 20 years.

In a video message posted to Twitter in February, Rob said his life is ‘better now’ after receiving support that allowed him to create a family and pursue the career he wanted.

He said: ‘Hi there, as of today I have been sober for 20 years, which is a long time – it’s almost two decades – and I’m shocked and overwhelmed and grateful.

’20 years ago I was in jail in a wheelchair and now I’m on a couch, with a lovely quilt and my life is unrecognisable.’
