Rangers hero Kris Boyd has been left fuming after his former side’s inability to switch it up and play it long.

Gers insisted on playing out from the back which saw Celtic latch onto them and pin them in their own half from the first minute.

But Boyd slammed the tactic in use insisting they confounded their own misery.

He said: “If there’s a team to hit it over, it’s Celtic because they’ve got so many on you.

“John McLuaghlin has three or four seconds to think about it and still plays that pass.

“The game’s finished I don’t know why you’re still playing out.

“It’s an annihilation i don’t know why you’re adding too it.”

The Hoops captain believes his side’s Glasgow counterparts couldn’t deal with the intensity of their game.

He said: “It was excellent.

“The intensity that we’ve started the season at has been fantastic.

“We pressed and didn’t let them settle into their game.

“We got the goal to start us off and it set the whole stadium off.

“That shows everyone what we’re all about, there’s a lot of football to be played so we need to keep it going.

“Our home games are super important, so we want to show how good we are here and i think we did that.”
