Is Shaq A ‘Flat Earther’ Or Is He Just Messing With Us?

Shaq #Shaq

Shaquille O’Neal said what he said years ago and he’s repeating it loudly for those of you in the back. When NBA star Kyrie Irving claimed that the earth is flat back in 2017, Shaq responded, “It’s true. The Earth is flat.” So does he really believe that, or is he just messing with all of us for fun?

Mega Shaq Has What He Calls “Theories” On The Topic

“There’s three ways to manipulate the mind: What you read, what you see, and what you hear. In school, first thing they teach us, ‘Oh, Columbus discovered America,’” he said. “But when you got there, it was some fair-skinned people with long hair smoking on peace pipes. So what does that tell you?”

In a recent interview on Australian podcast, “The Kyle & Jackie O Show,” O’Neal revisited his thoughts on if he truly believes that the Earth is flat or not.

Is The Earth Flat And Is It Really Spinning?

When asked if he really believes what he said years ago, O’Neal responded with, “it’s a theory.” He continued explaining, “I flew 20 hours today, not once did I go this way. I flew straight.” He added that he didn’t “go upside down” either which is what he believes would happen if the Earth was round as opposed to flat.

He then brought up the topic of the Earth spinning by saying, “You know how they say the world is spinning?  I’ve been living in a house on a lake for 30 years, not once did the lake rotate to the left or rotate to the right. Podcast host Kyle Sandilands then responded, “If we’re spinning so fast, why aren’t we dizzy? I don’t get that either.”

The former NBA star claimed, “It’s a conspiracy theory,” and said he enjoys entertaining a variety of theories and that it isn’t “about figuring them out, or he’s wrong or he’s right.”

Revisiting His 2017 Comments

This isn’t the first time the NBA All-Star has openly discussed this topic. In 2017, he discussed his theories on “The Big Podcast with Shaq.” He said he drives “coast to coast” a lot and knows that “it’s flat.” “I do not go up and down at a 360-degree angle, and all that stuff about gravity, have you looked outside Atlanta lately and seen all these buildings? You mean to tell me that China is under us? China is under us? It’s not. The world is flat,” he explained.

Is Shaq Just Messing With All Of Us For Fun?

In a March 2017 follow-up to his flat Earth theories, O’Neal told The Washington Post, “Would you like to hear my theory? The first part of the theory is, I’m joking, you idiots.” So is he telling the truth about what he thinks, or is he taking a step back because of backlash?

Let’s not forget that O’Neal also has a fun theory about how long it takes to get to the moon.  Jokes were all around, “You can see the moon, it’s closer than California.” He claimed that it would take 10 to 11 hours to get to the moon. This theory was one that O’Neal was able to get a definitive answer to immediately, so back to wondering if he believes that the Earth is flat…
