Conor Coady makes Everton transfer claim and lifts lid on Frank Lampard talks

Conor Coady has explained his move to Everton came about, and detailed the “surreal” feeling of chatting to Frank Lampard.

The Blues signed the defender on loan from Wolves earlier this month. Coady made his debut last week in the defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League, and is set to play a key role for Everton this season.

Coady made two first-team appearances for local rivals Liverpool earlier in his career, before spending seven years at Wolves. Now the centre-back has spoken about how he had a feeling that an exit from Molineux was on the cards before it actually happened.

The 29-year-old went on to speak about the first conversation he had with Lampard. Coady, who has more than 400 senior appearances, admitted he “couldn’t believe” he was talking to the Everton boss when it happened.
