Admittedly, 35-year-old Corey Perry has not been an offensive force for the Dallas Stars’ third line. In tonight’s Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, Perry scored just his third goal of the postseason. It wasn’t pretty, but the second period was contentious after the Tampa Bay Lightning quickly erased what had once been a 2-0 Stars lead.
The scramble leading up to this goal was met with a collective sigh from Stars fans when Corey Perry finally tucked it away behind Andrei Vasilevskiy. With 11:34 left in the middle frame, the Stars went up 3-2.
Watch the set up and goal below:
Perry’s last goal was a power play goal on August 13, in Game 2 of their first-round series against the Calgary Flames. Dallas won that game 4-5.
In total, Perry also has 4 assists, 23 penalty minutes and 45 shots.
