Ronaldo Misses Out As New Signings Make Man Utd Debut

Manchester United continued their preparations for the new season with a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid on Saturday afternoon.
Tyrell Malacia got another start at left-back, while new signings Christen Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez started on the bench for the Red Devils. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was not included in the travelling squad.
Atletico, meanwhile, handed a start to new signing Nahuel Molina in defence while Antoine Griezmann, Alvaro Morata and Joao Phoenix only started on the bench.
The Red Devils looked lively early on, as both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial went to close to opening the scoring inside the opening 15 minutes.
United had most of their joy down the left flank with Rashford and especially Malacia, who was able to make a number of overlapping runs in the first half.
Diego Simeone responded with a host of changes at the start of the second and it nearly paid off when Felix picked out an unmarked Saul, who nodded over from close range.
Erik Ten Hag, meanwhile, waited for the hour mark to make changes as Eriksen made his debut in place of Martial while Donny van de Beek replaced Scott McTominay.
However, the opening goal would fall to the Spanish side in the 86th minute as Felix skipped past Diogo Dalot before firing into the bottom corner after some good work by Morata.
The Red Devils also finished the game with 10 men after Fred was shown a second yellow card for bringing down Morata, as the encounter finished 1-0 to
United will be in action once again on Sunday afternoon as they take on Rayo Vallecano in their final pre-season encounter.
