AM newsreader Bernadine Oliver-Kerby controversially claims hump day is Tuesday, not Wednesday

Hump Day #HumpDay

Wednesday is ‘hump day’ for most workers – but apparently not for AM’s Bernadine Oliver-Kerby.

The newsreader controversially claimed hump day, a term used to describe the halfway point of the working week, is actually Tuesday – not Wednesday.

“I have to say… I’ve got a bit of an issue with you,” AM host Melissa-Chan Green told Oliver-Kerby during Wednesday’s show.

“Yesterday, Bernadine comes in and says, ‘Happy hump day’. And we’re all like, ‘Yes! It’s Wednesday!’

“[Bernadine] refers to Tuesday as hump day… that’s just not good enough.”

Oliver-Kerby explained the rationale behind her controversial thinking.

“Hear me out, OK? So, Monday – everyone turns up for work, you see all your work colleagues, you’re fresh, you’re feeling good… you get Monday over and done with.

“Then there’s Tuesday and it’s a really long wait until Friday so I think hump day is actually Tuesday, not Wednesday – that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”
