Goal machine Ronaldo had earlier completed his sensational return to Old Trafford last season when he joined Man United from Juventus. Nicknamed CR7, the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar arrived at Manchester United’s Carrington training base with his superagent Jorge Mendes. As per the latest developments, Man United legend and former manager Alex Ferguson was also seen arriving at the Carrington training base of the English Premier League (EPL) giants. According to multiple reports, Ronaldo has expressed his desire to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

    According to Goal.com, United’s former boss Ferguson appears to be a part of the high-profile meeting regarding Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford. The report stated that Ronaldo and Ferguson had arrived at the training base at the same time. It was Ferguson who first signed Ronaldo at Manchester United back in 2003. Ambitious Ronaldo wants to return to UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season.

    Ronaldo-starrer Man United missed out on a Champions League qualification last season and the Red Devils will only feature in the UEFA Europa League in their 2022-2023 campaign. Ronaldo netted 24 goals and CR7 was also the leading goalscorer for the Red Devils last season. Earlier, United manager Ten Hag had asserted that Ronaldo is “not for sale”.

    “We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that’s it and I’m looking forward to working with him. I have read it, but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together,” the new United manager was quoted as saying. Ronaldo had missed Man United’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia for personal reasons.
