Klondike’s Choco Taco discontinued: Roy Wood Jr. ‘vindicated,’ says Drumstick next

Klondike is saying “adios” to the Choco Taco — the vanilla ice cream with peanuts and fudge folded into a taco-shaped cone and topped with chocolate — after nearly 40 years.

The treat is being mourned on social media as users beg the company to bring the ice cream with a cult following back.

But Alabama-raised comic Roy Wood Jr. is dancing on the Choco Taco’s grave, saying he’s been “vindicated” for his 2020 tweet slamming the dessert.

On Monday, Wood called attention to his two-year-old tweet proclaiming the Drumstick ice cream cone a “bottom 3 all-time worst ice cream in history. Bout as bad as the Choco Taco” and predicted the Drumstick’s demise is next.

“2 years ago, Choco Taco Hive came for me. Yet here I stand, vindicated. You spent days slandering me. What you didn’t spend, was money on them folded ass ice cream cones,” Wood said. “Always be brave enough to stand alone. This is a beautiful day. One down. One to go.”

The comic said he’s “like whatever the opposite of an influencer is. I speak on shit then it get discontinued. Deinfluencer?”

Just two months ago, Wood ripped Walmart for its Juneteenth ice cream that encouraged consumers to “share and celebrate African-American culture, emancipation and enduring hope” by buying the dessert.

After critics bashed the megaretailer for what they said was a shameless, tasteless marketing scheme, the ice cream was pulled from shelves.
