Felix Valentine Quintanilla 90, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022. He was born in Mercedes, Texas on February 14 , 1932 to the late

Felix G. and Hilaria Quintanilla and was one of twelve children.

As a young man, and a prolific guitarist and singer, Felix and his friends formed a singing trio, playing at various venues in the 1950’s.

Felix also served his country with pride during the Korean War and was stationed in Guam. Upon his return, he married the love of his life, Mary Helen (Dewbrew) in April of 1954 and they celebrated 66 years of marriage before her untimely death last year.

Felix worked for Arvin Industries for over 37 years, retiring in 1996, and often received ‘days-off-with-pay’ certificates for having exceptionally perfect work attendance. He enjoyed music, dancing, a good Western movie and Star Trek-the original series.

Felix is survived by, Daughter Monica (Mark) Stratton and Son Marcus Quintanilla. Grandchildren: Kimmi Quintanilla, Christopher Quintanilla, Joseph Quintanilla, Andrew Quintanilla, Samantha Stratton, Shelby Quintanilla and Antonio Quintanilla.

Great grandchildren: Jennifer Belcher, Hannah Carpenter, Ryan Quintanilla, Meghan Carpenter, Nathan Quintanilla, Natalie Quintanilla and Journey Quintanilla. Siblings: Monica Howell, Jimmy Quintanilla, Juanita Reyes, Romel Quintanilla,

Maria Quintanilla, Alma Quintanilla and Imelda Quintanilla. As well a many, many nieces and nephews.

Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters: Maclovia Reyna, Teresa Caballero, Catarina Garcia, Brother: Hilario Quintanilla Grandson Marcus Quintanilla Jr. and Great Grandson Dustin Quintanilla.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11:30 AM with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.

Felix will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Greenwood Cemetery.
