Raya Airways (TH, Kuala Lumpur Subang) has confirmed it will lease four Airbus narrowbody P2F-converted freighters from ST Engineering’s aviation asset management business.
The Malaysian cargo specialist said in a statement it will add two A320P2Fs and two A321P2Fs to help meeting soaring demand for cargo uplift throughout Southeast Asia. The quartet will be converted by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) with the first aircraft, A321-200 msn 1293 (formerly with Sky Angkor Airlines), already at ST Engineering’s Singapore Seletar facility with re-delivery due in the fourth quarter of 2022.
“Once converted, each A321P2F will offer 27 tonnes while each A320P2F will offer 21 tonnes, effectively increasing Raya Airways’ combined payload by up to 96 tonnes. Our commitment to our clients is that wherever there are economic centres with robust future prospects, Raya Airways aims to be there,” Raya Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, MD Hidayat Rahim, said.
Raya Airways is currently an all-Boeing outfit operating one B737-400(SF) as well as two B767-200(F)s (one -BDSF and two -SFs). The duo are currently undergoing P2F conversion at each of Tampa Int’l and Orlando Sanford.
