DPR says civilians’ appeals to ECHR were ignored

Civilians in the Donetsk People’s Republic submitted thousands of complaints to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) yet they never received any formal decisions, DPR criminal and legislative committee chairman Elena Shishkina told TASS News on Monday.
“Thousands of complaints were sent to the ECHR (…) From the very beginning, we understood that there would be no positive decisions, because the ECHR and the International Criminal Court are very politicized structures that play along with the collective West in Russophobic sentiments,” she pointed out.
Shishkina also noted that despite the International Criminal Court prosecutor’s recognition of the consistency in the received applications and recorded crimes, not a single sentence was passed “in accordance with international law, and not based on political preferences.”
