Player of the Week #PlayeroftheWeek
The final high school players of the week of the 2021-2022 season have been decided.
As we combined our baseball and softball plus our girls and boys lacrosse into two polls instead of the normal four, it turns out that girls rocked the vote this week.
Middleboro’s Cassidy Machado, Notre Dame Academy’s Raegen White and Dover-Sherborn’s Mia Guarini all earned Player of the Week honors.
Middleboro’s pitcher Cassidy Machado delivers a pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning with an 8-0 lead during a Division 3 state semi-final game versus Saint Mary’s of Lynn at Martin Field, Lowell, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Machado, a junior softball pitcher, earned the baseball/softball player of the week honor. She received a whopping 87 percent of all votes. In a Division 3 state semifinla win over St. Mary’s of Lynn, Machado pitched magnificently. She tossed a complete game 2-hitter with 13 strikeouts in the 8-0 win.
