Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues prop Jordan McLean has today been ruled out of Game Three of the Ampol State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Wednesday 13 July after injuring his hamstring at training.

McLean, 30, who was part of the extended squad for Game Two in Perth, was scheduled to make his debut for the Blues after being called in to replace the injured Payne Haas (shoulder).

“My career has been full of ups and downs,” McLean said.

“I’ve kind of gotten used to it but I thought there might be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

“The hardest thing will be telling my family. I was looking forward to the opportunity but it wasn’t to be.”

McLean will have scans today to determine the extent of the injury. NSW coach Brad Fittler is also expected to name a replacement later today.

Jacob Saifiti was part of the extended squad but returned to Newcastle on Wednesday to prepare for the Knights match against South Sydney Rabbitohs at McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday night.
