Woman reports strangers having dinner in her backyard: Russell Township police blotter

RUSSELL TOWNSHIP, Ohio

Welfare, Hook Hollow Road:

A woman called police 8:40 p.m. June 15 reporting there were people at her house having dinner in her backyard and that her son told her to not call police. An officer talked to her son who lives with her. He said she is diagnosed with dementia, hallucinations and sun-downing and that she regularly has perception issues. Police also spoke with her.

Traffic hazard, Kinsman Road:

Police closed Kinsman Road near Caves Road 11:36 a.m. June 17 until repairs could be made after a semi-truck became entangled in wires. Spectrum Cable was called and responded to untangle the truck and make repairs.

Mutual aid, Chagrin River Road:

Moreland Hills police asked for assistance 5:50 p.m. June 17 to search for a missing man. While checking a property, Russell Township officers saw the suspect walking near the tree line. They escorted him back to the command post for Moreland Hills police.

Traffic Hazard, Pekin Road:

Complaints of four kids skateboarding in the road 4:10 p.m. June 19 in the area of Watt Road drew police to the scene. An officer found them riding on the road and followed them to their grandmother’s house. She was informed o their activities and said they were not supposed to be riding that far away from her house. They were advised to stay off the road.

Assistance, Chillicothe Road:

A man asked police for advice June 21. He shares a mailbox with his landlord and believes the landlord is opening his mail. He was instructed to file a complaint with the Post Office because they have jurisdiction over mail.
