Kings Sign Fiala to Seven-Year Contract Extension

The LA Kings have signed newly acquired forward Kevin Fiala to a seven-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $7,875,000.
Fiala, 25, was acquired by the Kings yesterday from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a first-round pick (19th overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft and the rights to defenseman Brock Faber.
Last season, the 5-10, 205-pound forward established career-highs in nearly every statistical category including goals (33), assists (52) and points (85). The St. Gallan, Switzerland native also finished 10th in the NHL with 67 even-strength points.
Originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the first round (11th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Fiala has registered 283 points (124-159=283) in 419 regular-season games over eight seasons and added 15 points (9-6=15) in 35 Stanley Cup Playoff appearances.
