– Palace already won their game against Southampton in their opening game

– United will be looking for a winning start to their campaign, which has began one week later than other clubs

Manchester United face Crystal Palace in their opening game of the season and there are some interesting team news for the home side ahead of the game on Saturday, September 19.

The most encouraging news for Red Devils fans will be that Paul Pogba made a full recovery from COVID-19 and is in contention to start the game.

Left back Luke Shaw is also fit again after recovering from an ankle injury that ruled him out of the last weeks of last season.

Another huge slice of team news is Mason Greenwood being in the manager’s plans, despite his disciplinary woes while on duty with England.

New signing Donny Van de Beek, who is Man United’s only summer arrival, is also fully fit , with Solskjaer hinting the Dutchman could play in a midfield three alongside Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

“Of course the three of them can start together,” he said. “But you’ve got Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic in midfield as well. It’s not just about three players in a squad, but I’m sure we’ll see them together.” Solskjaer said in his latest interview.

Dean Henderson is also back with Man United after his loan spell at Sheffield United and is set to rival David De Gea for the number 1 spot in the squad.

Centre backs Phil Jones and Alex Tuanzebe remain unavailable, while academy product Teden Mengi continues to train with the first team.

At the front, United’s attack is potentially going to be as potent as ever, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial all fit to start.

Nigerian Odion Ighalo, who recently extended his loan spell with the Red Devils, is likely to sit this one out as Solskjaer prefers Martial to the 30-year old for league games.

Here is TUKO.co.ke’s predicted Man United lineup to face Crystal Palace: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Matic, Van de Beek, Fernandes; Greenwood, Martial, Rashford
