Armagh were down to 14 men after a second-half red card but they managed to mount a stunning comeback that featured a late Aidan Nugent goal and a last-second Rian O’Neill free-kick.

That score from the Orchard County star tied the match at 2-14 to 1-17 but the real drama was only about to begin.

Both sides headed toward the tunnel at the end of normal time but the two teams launched into a touchline melee that saw dozens of players and staff involved.

There even appeared to be eye gauges involved as the bitter fight dragged on with neither team able to seperate.

Two red cards were doled out for the incident, one for Armagh’s Aidan Nugent and the other for Galway’s Sean Kelly.

Both sides were restored to 15 players each due to the extra-time period counting as a new game.
