Cincinnati Bengals wideouts aren’t too happy with a call by officials late during the team’s Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bengals wideout A.J. Green got tangled up with Chargers corner Casey Hayward on one of the game’s final plays and appeared to haul in what would’ve been a game-winning touchdown pass from Joe Burrow.
But officials flagged the play and hit Green with an offensive pass interference call.
Green wasn’t too happy with the call after the game while speaking with media.
And now Bengals wideout Tyler Boyd has added his voice to the mix the day after the game, per ESPN’s Ben Baby:
Bengals WR Tyler Boyd on the late OPI call on A.J. Green: “I don’t think it was a good call.”

At full speed, the play looked like it was a 50-50 call at best. Green hit the top of his route, fully extended his arm (which usually gets called as a wideout changes direction), changed direction and toe-tapped while catching the ball.
Bengals fans know all too well Randy Bullock then missed a short field goal that would’ve sent the game to overtime and he’s now on the injury report.
The reality? Bengals players can voice their disapproval but have surely already moved on — Burrow set the tone by giving himself a “D” grade for his performance. The Bengals don’t have much time to dwell on it either now that they have to turn around and play the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.
