BOSTON — Several Warriors players and even Draymond Green’s wife criticized the Boston Celtics fans for their vulgar chants toward Green in the three games in Boston.

But when the series ended with the Warriors winning the fourth championship with this core group, Green actually saluted the Celtics fans who stayed to watch the Warriors’ championship ceremony.

Green became a lightning rod after getting into a skirmish with Jaylen Brown after getting tangled up early in the series. He seemed to relish the Boston crowd chanting “(expletive) you, Draymond” in Game 3.

“This fan base gave me a hard time. A really hard time. To come out here and get a win is awesome,” he said while being interviewed on ABC. “I respect this fanbase. They brought incredible energy. I’ve got to give kudos to them. But we did what we do. Welcome to the Warriors’ invitational.”

Green had 12 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in Game 6.
