Report: Tottenham are now ‘quietly confident’ they will sign ‘outstanding’ PL player as well as Bissouma

Tottenham are now quietly confident that they will be able to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club this summer.
The Times report that the impending signing of Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion is not the intended end of Tottenham’s midfield business this summer.
Spurs have been heavily linked with the ‘outstanding‘ Danish playmaker since his resurgence at Brentford since the January transfer window.
And there is now confidence from north London that they can convince Eriksen to come back to the club before the end of the transfer market.

Tottenham have been doing their business earlier than usual this summer.
That is something which has Antonio Conte’s hallmarks all over it as he seeks to improve standards across the board, on and off the pitch.
Daniel Levy has preferred to do his deals later in previous windows, to try and get the absolute best financial deal for the club.
But Bissouma has one year left to run on his Brighton deal, while Eriksen, as well as confirmed new arrivals Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic are free agents.

That approach is helping Levy get the deals done earlier, by removing the imperative to agree transfer fees with many targets.
It seems that Spurs are confident that Eriksen will also join their ranks at some point this summer, in what would be a sensational comeback.
The report says that even after Bissouma and Eriksen, Conte would want two defenders and a forward before the window closes.
