Jennifer Hudson joins EGOT club with Tony for ‘Strange Loop’ producer role

Jennifer Hudson on Sunday joined the EGOT club, an exclusive group of distinct talents who have won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards.

Hudson, 40, joined the ranks with her producer credit on Michael R. Jackson’s “A Strange Loop,” which won the Tony for best new musical.
Hudson, a two-time Grammy winner, received an Academy Award in 2007 for “Dreamgirls,” and an Emmy last year for “Baba Yaga,” an animated short that she helped produce.

A former “American Idol” contestant, Hudson made her Broadway debut as a cast member in “The Color Purple” in 2015.
