Football fans can’t get enough of England’s Soccer Aid lineup as they prepare to face the Rest of the World XI on Sunday evening.

Mark Noble is the biggest addition to the side, just weeks after he called the curtain on his playing career. However, the former West Ham man has been snubbed of the captaincy in favour of former One Direction member Liam Payne.

Noble is joined by fellow Premier League legends Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville, and David James. Teddy Sheringham was also named in the starting line-up – and he will lead the line alongside comedian Alex Brooker.

“Mark Noble was playing with Declan Rice 3 weeks ago and now look at the retirement home he’s in,” one fan joked.

“Mark Noble starting. Stewart Downing and Joe Cole are both on the bench. Is this 2013 West Ham all over again,” a second questioned. While a third added: “Good to see Nobes’ finally get his England call up…oh it’s not the real thing is it.”

A fourth joked: “The likes of Mark Noble, Jamie Carragher, David James and Gary Neville are being captained by Liam Payne. He truly was the face of One Direction!”

England will face a Rest of the World side led by the fastest man to ever live Usain Bolt.

Bolt has been handed the armband over Roberto Carlos, Petr Cech, Cafu, and Andriy Shevchenko. Patrice Evra has also been given the nod while TikToker Noah Beck could be the surprise package of the game having played professional football in America.
