Warriors fans trash Boston bar that taunted Ayesha Curry with ‘Can’t Cook’ sign after Steph erupts

Of all places, a Boston bar 2.5 miles from TD Garden took all the heat from the Golden State Warriors fan base after a series-tying win in extremely hostile Boston.

Game On! at Fenway Park, which bills itself as “Boston’s most unique sports bar, equipped with ping pong, corn hole and the Fenway Park batting cage,” scribbled “Ayesha Curry can’t cook” on a sandwich board sign outside the bar, spotted by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dalton Johnson mid-day Friday.

Johnson’s tweet went viral during the middle of the day, but Ayesha was the one trending after the game as fan after fan tweeted some variation of “Ayesha Curry can’t cook … but Steph can.”

Steph Curry poured in 43 points in an electric Game 4 road win that went down to the wire and saw Curry start showing emotion as early as the first quarter. He finished 14-for-26 from the field and a scintillating 7-for-14 from three, plus somehow also found time to pull down 10 boards and dish four assists in the Dubs’ 107-97 victory.

This isn’t the first time this postseason a cocky fan base were brought back down to earth by Curry. In Golden State’s playoff-opening series with the Nuggets, a fan could be seen miming crying and rubbing his eyes in Curry’s direction after the Dubs star looked upset about not getting a foul call.

Boston fans, of course, raised the ante by joking about Curry’s wife, and also his oldest daughter — the back of the Game On! sign read, “Duece Tatum > Riley Curry.” And yes, the bar misspelled the name of Tatum’s son.

The NBA Finals now shift back to San Francisco with the Warriors hosting the Celtics at Chase Center on Monday. Tip-off is once again set for 6 p.m.
