Resident Evil 4 remake is officially coming on March 24 of 2023 & will include PS VR2 content

Capcom has finally confirmed the much-rumoured Resident Evil 4 remake for a March 24 release next year.

The announcement came at the start of the latest State of Play broadcast with a suitably sinister trailer. Leon, Ashley, Ada Wong and the creepy Spanish village are all present and correct. Of course, everything looks very modern and shiny thanks to the RE: Engine. We didn’t get a taste of gameplay, but there’s definitely a Resident Evil Village look to proceedings.

In addition, the Resident Evil 4 remake will have some kind of PlayStation VR 2 support. While it wasn’t detailed what that is, Resident Evil Village will also be getting a similar VR release on the new headset. We can only imagine how it’s going to look escaping from the chainsaw wielding hessian sack guys in VR, but we’ll get more details in the coming months.

As this was shown during the PlayStation briefing, other platforms weren’t mentioned just yet. So we’re not sure if this is a PlayStation exclusive or not. (EDIT: Capcom has now confirmed it’ll release on Xbox Series X|S and PC too.) In the meantime, you can check out the survival horror’s debut trailer for yourself down below.

The Resident Evil 4 remake will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 24, 2023.
