MIAMI — As if it was scripted, the first player to ever win the Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP award will go to a Celtic: Jayson Tatum.
It took all of 48 minutes, but the Boston Celtics are heading to the NBA Finals for the first since 2010. They spilled onto the FTX Arena court as the buzzer sounded after the 100-96 win over the Heat in Game 7. The C’s will face the Warriors in the NBA Finals as Game 1 is set for 9 p.m. Thursday at Chase Center.
Tatum put up 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the Game 7 win over the Heat.
