Anthony Weiner takes jabs at Tracy Morgan’s Friars Club Roast

Tracy Morgan was roasted by The Friars Club at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, but one of the sharpest jabs was pointed at attendee Anthony Weiner.
A source tells us comic Sherri Shepherd was making comedic cracks at audience members, when she joked that the pol — who was sidelined by a number of sexting scandals, and sentenced to 21 months in federal prison — was asked to leave his phone at the door because the “Friars Club has a no sexting policy.”
Weiner, who co-hosts “The Left vs The Right” on John Catsimatidis’ 77 WABC Radio, wasn’t offended.
“I would be surprised if they didn’t make fun of me at the Friars event,” Weiner told us. “Guys named Weiner go to roasts with eyes wide open.”
We hear Shepherd also kidded around with her former neighbor and “30 Rock” co-star Morgan, bringing up the time in 2009 when a light in his fish tank caught ablaze, causing the sprinklers in the building to go off and flood her apartment.
Morgan currently has a 30 gallon, $400,000 shark tank in his yard in New Jersey.

The city’s biggest party animal, Mayor Eric Adams — who by our estimation has yet to miss any event in the city — was on hand to introduce Morgan and give him an award.
“Never give up,” Morgan told the crowd. “Fall down seven times, get up eight. Unless you get hit by a Walmart truck and then you can lay down and wait for your lawyer.”
In 2014, Morgan was involved in a tragic accident involving a Walmart truck. A friend died and he sustained a traumatic brain injury, fractured ribs, a broken leg and was in a coma for two weeks. The driver pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.

Friars Club Dean Arthur Aidala organized the evening, and told us, “It was like a wedding/bar mitzvah. There was a lot of love in that room. We weren’t just honoring someone who achieved a lot, but who was also on the brink of death,” he said referencing the accident. “Tracy cried a lot… It was a very emotional night peppered in with some hysterical moments.”
J.B. Smoove and Knicks stars Obi Toppin, Allan Houston and Immanuel Quickley were in the crowd, along with Rudy Giuliani, Bill De Blasio, Geraldo Rivera, Alan Dershowitz, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Jean Shafiroff, Eugenia and Janna Bullock and Tracy Morgan Jr.

We’re told Paul Shaffer gave tribute to Gilbert Gottfried, who passed in April, and Ben Vereen gave tribute to Betty White, who passed in December.
To top off the night, Joe Piscopo sang a melody of Frank Sinatra songs, and CeeLo Green performed his biggest hits.
