The Atlanta Braves called up top prospect Michael Harris II from Double-A Mississippi on Saturday, promoting the 21-year-old outfielder to the majors after just 43 games of experience above the High-A level.

Harris, a third-round pick in 2019, slashed .305/.372/.506 with five home runs, 16 doubles and 11 stolen bases in 43 games at Double A this season. He spent all of 2021 at High-A Rome, where he batted .294/.362/.436 with seven home runs and 27 steals.

Harris entered the season as Atlanta’s No. 2 prospect, per The Athletic’s Keith Law, but became the top prospect after Atlanta traded Cristian Pache to the Oakland Athletics in the Matt Olson deal. Harris is the No. 61 prospect in baseball.

Born in DeKalb, Ga., Harris attended Stockbridge (Ga.) High outside of Atlanta.
