Team Fortress 2 #TeamFortress2

A peaceful Team Fortress 2 protest is happening on May 26th and people part of the Save TF2 community have shared the start time and rules.

The protest is in response to the game’s reported problems with massive amounts of bots. This issue has resulted in content creator’s like SquimJim publishing videos and reaching out to publications like IGN in hopes of getting developer Valve to listen and fix the issue.

The game’s community is undergoing a peaceful act later today and you can participate on Twitter.

When is the Team Fortress 2 protest?

The Save TF2 protest for Team Fortress 2 is happening on May 26th from 10:00 PT, 13:00 ET, and 18:00 BST.

All of the above hours come courtesy of a Reddit post. It’s explicitly referred to as a peaceful action from the community.

As of writing, the Reddit post currently has 34,000 upvotes and SquimJim is set to participate. Again, the community act is in response to the reported problem concerning bots.

Per a report from Gamerant, the issue is so severe that the game has become unplayable for many. It’s reported that the problem has been around since at least 2020 and any efforts from Valve to fix the issue have been unsuccessful.

As to how to the game is unplayable, players have reported issues in the casual match servers where an overwhelming number of bots automatically snipe opponents the moment they appear outside their team’s base.

#SaveTF2 rules

You can participate in the Save TF2 protest on social media and the Team Fortress 2 community has expressed how to act.

On social media, whether Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, or Tik Tok, members of the community are asked to provide a message about how much they love and care about the game. This message must end with #SaveTF2.

There should be no tweets or anything else sent to Valve with direct aggression and harassment. The Twitter account TF2OutOfContext has provided visual examples of what’s okay and what isn’t.
