Ryanair in savage ‘Rangers tears’ taunt as airline vows to set up fund for new Ibrox signings

Ryanair have piled the pain on reeling Rangers supporters with a series of taunts on social media.

Thousands of Gers fans used the budget airline as they descended on Seville for the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

Rangers lost the showpiece on penalties which left them heartbroken as rival fans and former players such as Chris Sutton and Moussa Dembele lined up to rub salt in their wounds.

And Ryanair’s official account couldn’t help but join in with a brutal putdown.

Replying to Hoops fan who shared an image of Frankfurt’s players carrying the Europa League trophy before asking how much it would cost to it carry on a Ryanair flight.

The airline wrote: “Trophy free, we’ll charge for Rangers tears instead.”

Gers fans were outraged and one fired back at the airline, tweeting: “Flight last night was s**** anyway.”

But once again, Ryanair couldn’t resist another dig as they replied: “All that emotional baggage.”

Celtic fans lapped up the tweet as one even insisted they wanted to give the airline money for the tweet.

They wrote: “Hi @Ryanair just booked four flights. I’ve no intention of going anywhere. Just wanted to throw you a few quid for that tweet.”

And Ryanair replied with another amusing response.

It read: “Should we set up a gofundme page – we’ll donate 10% to rangers for new signings.”

Gio van Bronckhorst’s men will be hoping to bounce back from the tears of Seville when the face Hearts in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.
