North, Group 1 boys lacrosse 1st round recaps: Dolce hits milestone in loss to Ramsey

Danny Dolce scored his 200th career point for 14th-seeded Boonton but third-seeded Ramsey prevailed, 8-6, in the first round of the NJSIAA North, Group 1 boys lacrosse tournament in Ramsey.
Ramsey will face the winner of sixth-seeded Mahwah and 11th-seeded Lakeland in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
Dolce, who finished with four goals and an assist, nailed the milestone in fourth period to make it a 6-6 tie for Boonton (10-8).
JJ Phillips and Aidan Clark each notched two goals and an assist for Ramsey (9-6) while Dillon Kelly struck twice and Luca Gemma tallied a goal and an assist. Sean Hali scored in the victory.
Ramsey was up 6-3 at the start of the final period.
Nick Scaltro finished with two goals and two assists for Boonton.
Newton 12, Kittatinny 6
Robert McCullough led everyone with five goals as seventh-seeded Newton defeated 10th-seeded Kittatinny in the first round of the North, Group 1 tournament.
Newton (11-6) will face the winner of second-seeded Glen Rock and 15th-seeded Pompton Lakes in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
Ty Guzzo put in three goals and three assists while Ryan Lynch added three goals and one assist in the victory. Braeden Lynch tallied a goal and an assist in the win.
Kittatinny is now 4-13.
Jefferson 4, Lenape Valley 3
Colin Sabia connected in overtime as fifth-seeded Jefferson got by 12th-seeded Lenape Valley to advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday against the winner of fourth-seeded Westwood and 13th-seeded Cedar Grove.
If Jefferson (15-4) wins on Saturday, it will be only the second time in school history the program has made it to the state semifinals.
Sabia finished with three goals while Charlie Obermann scored for Jefferson, which trailed the whole game until tying the score in the final period.
Jack LaVere scored all three goals for Lenape Valley (3-14).
