Wedplanner

Good early Wednesday morning, everyone. We had another warm Tuesday with our highs pushing into the lower 80s across much of the area. While it was nice that we kept quiet during the day and for much of yesterday evening, we do have a cold front coming in from the northwest.

Surfacemap

Of course, Doug and I have been keeping an eye on this early morning’s round of t-storms coming in from the northwest ahead of the front. Once the front pushes the t-storms through a good portion of the area through the early morning hours, we’ll dry out after the AM commute today. With partly sunny skies, we’ll have another warm day lined up for us. After lows drop back into the upper 60s this morning, we’ll see highs bounce back into the middle 80s across much of the region.

With the front still nearby as we head into our Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, we’ll watch for another potential complex of t-storms to come at us. It won’t be for this evening, though. We’ll have another dry evening for any outdoor plans. It won’t be until we hit the overnight hours and early Thursday morning that a potential complex could work across our southern counties. Since some of those could be strong to low-end severe, that will be another round of t-storms we’ll keep a close eye on.

After we get past that round of t-storms early Thursday morning, we’ll dry out for the rest of the day while temperatures head back into the middle 80s.

As for when our next potential severe threat will head our way, it looks like Friday will be the day. The day will start dry and mild with lows in the lower 70s. With another approaching cold front, we’ll have a south wind in place to push highs back into the lower to middle 80s. However, that front will work with another upper-level wave to get scattered t-storms going late Friday afternoon and into Friday night. These storms could be strong to severe before we switch over to just scattered showers on Saturday.

Behind that front, it will be a bit chilly for the weekend compared to May standards and what we’ve seen over the past few weeks. We’ll have highs near 60 on Saturday and in the upper 60s on Sunday before we see t-storm chances return by next Monday and Tuesday. Beyond the next seven days, Doug has your updated long-range forecast out through the middle of June down below. Have a great Wednesday!
