The Hurricanes also went to Game 7 in their series against the Boston Bruins. Carolina came out ahead 2-0, but Boston tied it back up and brought things down to the wire. In Game 7, Carolina got out to to a 2-goal lead from which Boston couldn’t recover, and won the the game 3-2.
The Hurricanes are attempting to keep PNC Arena friendly ahead of the first two games by banning sales of tickets outside North and South Carolina, and parts of Virginia, with a “restricted sales area” policy. Of course, the secondary market still exists for any Rangers fans who may be planning a takeover. New York has put no similar restrictions in place, and has already sold out games 3, 4 and 6 at Madison Square Garden, according to CBS Sports.
