Starfield Delayed Until 2023
Starfield #Starfield
Bethesda’s space opera Starfield is officially delayed. The game was supposed to appear on November 11, 2022. Instead, it will appear in Q1 2023. The same announcement also revealed that Redfall, the next Arcane Studios FPS, will also appear in Q1 2023 as well.
Here’s the full statement from Bethesda. It didn’t offer any detailed explanation for the Starfield and Redfall delays, beyond citing quality control thoughts.
We’ve made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023.
The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them.
We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating.
We can’t wait to share our first deep dive into the gameplay for both Redfall and Starfield soon.
Thank you for your support.
As the statement says, actual gameplay footage hasn’t appeared for either Redfall or Starfield yet. Teasers and screenshots have appeared.
Starfield was announced back in June 2018. Details are still vague, but it is set in a new area of colonized space in 2330. People create a character who explores space following a war. Redfall first showed up at E3 2021. It will be a cooperative FPS in which people try to survive against both human and supernatural enemies. There are four possible characters to use, each with their own skills.
Redfall and Starfield will come to the Xbox Series X and PC in 2023.
