Brown vs Williams betting preview

Randy “Rudeboy” Brown has won four of his last five fights, most recently defeating Jared Gooden by unanimous decision in October. The former Ring of Combat welterweight champion has compiled an 8-4 record in the UFC since making his promotional debut in 2016.

The 31-year-old is a long and rangy fighter that combines accurate striking with dangerous grappling ability.

Covers UFC 274 Betting Analysis

Kalinn “Khaos the Oxfighter” Williams is coming off a knockout win over Miguel Baeza in November that earned him a Performance of the Night bonus. That gave him back-to-back victories and improved his record to 4-1 inside the octagon, with three of those wins coming by way of KO/TKO.

The 28-year-old is a dynamic striker with speed and knockout power. However, he’s more than just a power puncher, displaying the ability to attack the body and string together effective combinations

Our prediction is compiled from the analysis of the fighters and is an indication of who we are leaning with to win this bout. Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this fight or where the most value lies, and is where we would put some of our bankroll behind.

Prediction: Williams ML

Brown is the more technical fighter with better grappling ability but Williams’ strength and power could be the difference in this one. Brown needs to find his range before settling into distance striking but Williams’ pressure and ability to close distance won’t give him that opportunity.

Williams’ only defeat in his last 11 fights came by decision to Michel Pereira in December 2020, but it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Khaos led the exchanges and out-landed Pereira in every round but it was a generally lackluster affair with both fighters seemingly wary of opening up.

Expect Williams to be far less cautious against a more orthodox striker. Brown can be a bit hittable at times and he doesn’t do a good job of defending calf kicks, which could spell trouble given Williams’ strengths in the standup.

Look for Williams to set up his combinations by attacking the body and legs before blitzing his opponent with power shots.

Prediction: Khaos Williams moneyline (-125 at DraftKings)

Best bet: Williams by KO/TKO

Williams has terrific power and does an excellent job of setting up those bigger shots with the other tools at his disposal. Brown has been knocked out before and with five of Williams’ last seven wins coming inside the distance, we like him to pick up the win by KO/TKO.

Pick: Khaos Williams by KO/TKO (+190 at FanDuel)
