Ramadan is pushed back 10 days every year, and many have told us that fasting during the summer months are longer than winter due to the sunrise and sunset.

The end of the Ramadan fast is Eid-Alfitr, the feast of fast breaking that is one of two major religious holidays in the Muslim calendar.

“After 30 days with the sighting of the moon, we celebrate in holiday. It’s like a Thanksgiving,” says Samar Kahn, general secretary of Jamia Muhammadia Rizwia mosque.
