A new set of leaked screenshots of the alleged iPhone 12 Pro max confirmed two major features shipping with the handset. The latest leak confirmed that the high-end iPhone 12 model would feature a 120 Hz display refresh rate. It also unofficially confirmed that the iPhone 12 Pro Max would have the LiDar sensor.
Reliable industry insider Jon Prosser recently shared on Twitter several screenshots and a short hands-on video showing the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The screenshots confirmed that despite various contradicting leaks and rumors, the premium iPhone 12 model would feature a 120 Hz display refresh rate after all.
Prosser claimed that the information came from a PVT or Product validation test unit. It means that it is the almost-final version of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The design and most of the hardware seen in this unit are already locked in and would most likely be present in the commercial version of the model.

In addition to the display refresh rate, the largest iPhone 12 model would reportedly feature the LiDar sensor at the back. It most probably explains the alleged 10 percent increase in the bump size of the iPhone 12 pro max’s camera. The upcoming high-end iPhone 12 model would reportedly feature a powerful camera configuration capable of 4K 120 fps and 240 fps slo-mo.
The first screenshot reveals the Camera menu with a toggle labelled Enable Camera Features. When it is enabled, the LiDar features are activated. There are also advanced noise reduction, and other video modes available in the iPhone 12 Pro Max model.
Future users of the iPhone 12 Pro Max could also expect Enhanced Night Mode, zoom and bit depth video. Meanwhile, in a separate tweet, the insider mentioned that the notch of the iPhone 12 Pro Max would have the same size but with noticeably thinner bezels.
Prosser also suggested that the Face ID of the iPhone 12 pro Max works from a wider angle. The sides of the largest iPhone 12 model are flat, but the glass has a slight curve. The iPhone 12 series is anticipated to start shipping in October.
