WWE Raw results: Live recap, grades as Goldberg returns to address WWE champion Bobby Lashley

After Goldberg showed up on Raw to lay down a challenge to WWE champion Bobby Lashley, Lashley followed up the next week by saying he wouldn’t even dignify Goldberg’s challenge with a response. On Monday night, Goldberg returns to Raw to address the champ and attempt to move closer to a title shot at SummerSlam.
Goldberg last won a title in 2020, defeating “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to become universal champion. He would drop that title to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36 that March and has only wrestled once since, losing to Drew McIntyre in a match for the WWE championship at the Royal Rumble in January.
Lashley has held the WWE title since March 1, successfully defending the belt against McIntyre at WrestleMania and Hell in a Cell as well as turning away the challenge of Kofi Kingston at Money in the Bank.
