Oh No: 3 Sydney Removalists Allegedly Knew They Had COVID But Still Travelled To Regional NSW

Three Sydney removalists have been charged for breaching public health orders, after they allegedly knew they had COVID-19 but still travelled into regional NSW
According to SBS News, the three men aged 21, 27 and 27 travelled from West Hoxton to Figtree, before traveling to Molong, stopping in regional areas of South Bowenfels and Orange on the way. It’s alleged that the three men received a notification that they were COVID positive before arriving in Molong.
They have now been issued with a court attendance notice for August 30 in Orange.
NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services, David Elliott, has condemned the actions of the three removalists.
“This thoughtless act has now placed our regional communities in NSW at the greatest risk so far with this pandemic,” he said.
“We know that the delta variant is highly transmissible, and it is unfathomable to think that, with all the public information and health warnings, people could so blatantly ignore the health orders.”
Today, NSW recorded 111 cases today, which brings the total Bondi cluster to 1,137 since the first case was reported on June 16. The state has seen 82,000 people come forward for testing and administered 23,715 COVID-19 vaccines in the last 24 hours.
29 of today’s 111 cases were in the community during their infectious period. It’s a number that NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says is “stubborn and won’t go down.”
“We know the impact this will have on businesses small and large but we need to limit the spread into the community.”
