Erik Lamela is set to leave Tottenham in a swap deal for Sevilla youngster Bryan Gil, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs’ sporting director Fabio Paratici is working hard to get the deal across the line as he prepares his new club for the upcoming season.

It took the north London club what felt like an eternity to appoint a new manager, but since appointing Nuno Espirito Santo they have been aggressive in the transfer market.

Liverpool to lose Henderson and Klopp over deal?

It is claimed that Lamela will move to the LaLiga club with Gil heading the other way.

The deal also includes €25million plus add-ons going to the Spanish giants with personal terms yet to be agreed with each player.

Lamela has not had the best of times at Spurs since joining from AS Roma in 2013, but is now poised to move after eight years at the club.

He is the last man standing from the cluster of players that Spurs signed after the departure of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.

The Argentine has 257 appearances for the north Londoners, scoring 37 goals and assisting 47.

Gil, on the other hand, is a Spain international, making his debut in March this year.

He has bags of potential and should excite Spurs fans if the deal goes ahead.

The 20-year-old scored four and assisted four in 30 appearances for Sevilla last season, gaining some crucial experience in an excellent side.

Elsewhere, Spurs are close to taking Atalanta duo Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini to north London, according to reports.

Football.london claims that they have decided on Romero and Gollini to bolster their backline.

They say Spurs are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the Italian outfit over a summer move for the pair.

Romero is a 23-year-old centre-back who represented Argentina as they triumphed at this year’s Copa America.

He’s previously been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, although the Premier League sides have opted to pursue other targets.

Gollini, capped once by Italy, made 25 Serie A appearances last term and kept ten clean sheets.

He is viewed by Spurs as a solid backup for first-choice keeper Hugo Lloris.
