Packed piazzas across Italy exploded with joy last night as the country triumphed in the Euro 2020 final, shattering England’s hopes of ending its 55-year trophy famine.
As the final penalty was missed, car horns honked, flags were unfurled and fans rushed into streets up and down the country to cheer.
