Crews have evacuated homes in Mt. Juliet after a construction crew ruptured a natural gas line, the Mt. Juliet Police Department reported Wednesday morning.

Police reported the gas leak about 9:10 a.m. in the 3040 block of Oxford Dr in the Kelsey Glen neighborhood.

It was not immediately known if anyone was hurt.

The roadway is shut down until police said crews can repair the leak.

People are being asked to avoid the area.
