Conservative Pundit Candace Owens was mocked by Twitter after she openly denounced the COVID-19 vaccine, saying that “Medical freedom is a corporate policy.” People twisted the meaning of her tweet to mean that she was “pro-choice,” a term typically used to mean in favor of abortion.

“Not one person in my family will ever touch the Covid-19 vaccine. That is the decision that we have made, unabashedly, as a family. Medical freedom is an individual right that should NEVER be infringed upon and any person who thinks otherwise has no place in our government,” Owens wrote in a series of tweets. “As an employer— I can assure you that no employee at my company will ever be pressured to put any substance into their body as a condition of their employment. Medical freedom is a corporate policy. Any product that invokes elements of fear, bribery, and coercion to render your submission should be questioned.”

One of the people who trolled Owens was Michael Harriot, a senior writer at The Root. “Bold move by Candace to come out as pro-choice,” he wrote, alluding to Owens’ tweets. In reply to his tweet, Owens wrote, “I have always been pro medical-choice and anti-the murder of infants. Not sure why this seems to have startled some on the Left who wish to conflate the two ideologies,” making it clear that she did not refer to a pro-abortion stance through her words.

She has been very vocal about opposing abortion in the past. In March 2018, she wrote, “Planned Parenthood has been tremendously successful in the path they set out on; They have successfully trained us blacks to exterminate ourselves. 900 black babies aborted everyday. Over 18 million since 1973. 35% of all abortions come from 6% of the population: black women.”

Soon enough, her latest tweets started a troll-fest on Twitter against the conservative host. “Wait…that last sentence in the second tweet. Is miss Candace pro choice now?” one of them said, while another noted, “Candace Owens just admitted that she is now pro-choice on abortion saying ‘Medical freedom is an individual right that should NEVER be infringed upon and any person who thinks otherwise has no place in our government.’ That’s what we have been saying! My body, my f**king choice.”

A third commented, “MAGA lunatic fraudster Candace Owens says people should be able to choose whether or not to take the Covid vaccine, but she also believes women who’re raped should be forced to give birth if they become pregnant. The Hitler apologist is pro-choice when it suits her propaganda.” One more remarked, “Good to hear that you are pro-choice and against government restricting a woman’s reproductive autonomy.” The next quipped, “I did not have Candace Owens going pro-choice on my Deplorables bingo card.” A person reacted with, “First of all, I do not – not even for one second – believe Candance that she and her family are not vaccinated. She is, just like Tucker Carlson is and everybody at Fox and OANN are. Second, Candace Owens comes out as pro-choice guys!!!”
