Best known for its halal platters, the franchise will open spots in Fort Lee and Lawrence Township, according to a company spokesman.

The Lawrence Township restaurant will be located at 3371 Route 1. The Fort Lee restaurant will be located at 151 Linwood Plaza.

Exact opening dates have yet to be announced. The company spokesman said the Lawrence Township spot is expected to open by August and the Fort Lee location by September.

The Halal Guys’ menu consists of platters of chicken and gyro over rice and falafel sandwiches, accompanied by white and hot sauces.

The company began in 1990 as a hot dog cart and became a popular New York street vendor by selling halal platters to taxi drivers.

There are over 80 locations nationwide and five currently in New Jersey: East Brunswick, New Brunswick, Newark, Teterboro and Union.
